PILATES
We have incorporated MVe chair Pilates into our facility in November 2007 and it has been growing leaps and bounds. The MVe Pilates Chair created by Peak Pilates, and this hot new exercise will help lengthen, stretch, and strengthen your entire body. This exercise requires you to focus on your core and this creates an intense work out that you will see results from and have a great time doing it.

- Pilates is a whole body experience. It isn’t so much about meditation, but Pilates emphasizes proper breathing, along with spinal and pelvic alignment. When the spin and pelvis is aligned and the breathing is correct the individual then concentrates on smooth, flowing movements to strengthen and retrain the muscles.
- Pilates also emphasizes flexibility, helps lengthen and strengthens muscles unlike your conventional workouts.
- The most important principal would be developing a strong “core.” Imagine a girdle around your waist. Everyone has deep abdominal muscles that wrap around like a girdle. Pilates helps strengthen these muscles.
- There can be exercises created for your specific sport with Pilates. For example golfers have been using Pilates to help strengthen their core, help with their swing to add a flowing movement and power.
- This brings us to how challenging and different Pilates is. Just because some may not sweet while doing Pilates doesn’t mean it doesn’t give you a workout. Becoming more flexible and retraining your muscles is never easy.
